I thought this was really cool. i liked the beginning much more than the end however, there seemed to be more animation in it. This could be amazing if you keep working on it: better frame rates and more detail at the end. great start!

Such a good start. Sam L. is the greatest.
So informational.
Hmm.
Usually when I come to the new grounds home page i look for major authors like ego, johnny utah, etc. I must say that this is definitely a departure from your other work. I'm not going to talk about cancer until later. Though, i didn't find that your humor in this particular flash was that well thought out and really just relied on the cancer bit coupled with exclamatory remarks. The animation and voice acting are great as always. I laughed a bit, but this one didn't quite do it for me.
*NOTE*- I have found a trend among the reviews on this particular flash, because your fan base is so vast, that if a reviewer gives you a bad score their review, regardless of its merit, is deemed "useless", when there are equally unmerited reviews with good scores deemed "helpful". I just wanted to point out that those critical of any work are entitled to their opinion, just as much as those who want to give it praise. And people are right, if we don't like it, don't watch it, but that doesn't mean a little authorial discretion can't be used on such a sensitive topic. I'm not saying that you can't talk about cancer in a humorous way, but in this particular case it seems to be more used for the shock factor rather than intelligent humor.
Its not that cancer isn't funny because its too serious and people suffer from it and others are hurt by its misuse in humor, but to me it just really isn't actually funny. this may sound like a redundant statement but, really, there just isn't anything funny, ironic or unusual about cancer that one can satire or exploit. again, a personal opinion. I'm not giving you a mediocre score because you talked about cancer, i'm giving you one because you relied on it to carry the humor in your flash, and it didn't pan out. it would be no different if one wanted to make a flash about black people and just relied on stereotypes and drawings of big lips to carry the humor, or about child labor and just depicting asian accented children getting their hands caught in sewing machines. It not writing anything, its not intelligent.
Your animation...
is amazing. Thanks for sharing with us. As with the comment below, A story would be awesome.
YO.
your animation is very good, but the punch needs to come a little bit more sudden, and the sound it makes is really strange. also, if there was a little more back drop to this , like, actually showing the annoying guy might give the ending a little more, well, umph. hope this helps.
ok cool thank you this did help
Wow.
The animation alone was fucking awesome and deserves a 10. Seriously, i really like your style. I liked the overall flow of it, the mood, the colors, everything. This showed a lot of talent on your part, and I do hope more is to come.
In response to DrJesus...
I believe you to be a bit harsh on the kid. In regards to the ability of Sundog here to animate i believe he is already in the top echelon of animators, this being judged against a lot of the "animation" I have seen on this site. While it is rather cartoon like in comparison to the actual movie, I don't think it is even fair to compare the two, and I don't think I need to further explain this point. As for using the movie soundtrack, well, its no better or worse than using a different person's song that he was inspired by. I think you are judging this the wrong way.
To me this represented the passion of a young author who found inspiration in the great work of art that is "How to Train Your Dragon" and made a rather good looking flash. Of course it lacks in originality, but with that type of critique you can rule out all parody/sprite animation and inspired artwork like the anime version of Kingdom Hearts I have seen on here as useless. But I think your review is useless, and it does nothing really but cut into this guy.
I personally believe this flash to be a great starting point for an "amateur" artist. Though I would love to see some really original work in the future, you don't deserve a 5/10 because you were inspired.
Call me picky..
But since your finale of Primal Wars wasn't good, I am expecting you to do better here. But I really don't see the fascination or improvement in your artistry. You spend a lot of time drawing a perfectly round buttocks but the woman can't walk like a human being. The little glow lights on monitors look cool but lasers sound like cheesy 90's sci fi movies. You need to spend time on all the little things that smooth the ride, not just shameless ass shots and flashy lights. I am critical here, i know, but I am just trying to get give some criticism. Because in Newgrounds, there are those who give "10's" to everything and exalt the author as a god of flash, when things are far from perfect. Or they give "0's" to everything and tell you you are demon spawn. I guess I am trying to write in the middle. I have read a lot of reviews from critical newgrounds members and they all say the same thing: Your animation has the potential for brilliance, but there are many small tweaks you can make to create a more streamline and seamless flash. Your audio needs more tweaking in regards to overall volume on some parts and the variety of sounds played. I think this plagued you in Primal Wars too. Additionally, the movements are sometimes unnatural in all the characters. She walks like a duck, especially when walking towards the viewer. Just some small things.
You know
I have really enjoyed these animations over the years, and I just finally got back to newgrounds recently and found you posted the finale on here. I must say though, i don't know if i can say i liked it. It seemed short, or rushed to me. the development of the story over 20 episodes seemed to just take a back seat. I didn't even know the princess died, i had to watch it twice to figure out what happened, and then the gorilla stabs the naca in the back and the whole castle falls and he gets sucked into a tornado. needless to say, i was a little confused as to how all of this happened, and why the bear happened to have a magic fighting axe...I really don't mean to be rude, i have enjoyed this series a lot and have always looked forward to new episodes, but the finale just didn't do it for me ( i know you probably wanted to move on and started G.I.N.A., and thats fine, but i think the ending of Primal Wars suffered from it). But thanks for all the entertainment in this series, and i look forward to one of Newgrounds' finest artists.
i win.
